Book Release
June 14, 2012. Book Release Party at RCC. Lincoln's teacher, Ms. Sandy hosted a book release party. Each of the Butterfly Fish worke for months to make a book of their very own, completely from scratch. With assistance where needed, Lincoln cut the paper, sewed it together, numbered each page, wrote the story and illustrated it, made a cover and dust jacket, and shared about themselves for an author bio page. Lincoln's story was titled, "The Fox, Hound, and Rooster." When it was Lincoln's turn, he proudly stood behind the podium, turned each page, and told all of us the story while showing us the pictures! Best book I ever heard/read.
Friday Night Lights
June 8, 2012. Lincoln's final tee-ball game under the Friday night lights. The Bats vs. The Riverdogs. Lincoln "The Animal" was so excited about the game, mostly because of the location. A real baseball field! Ms. Sandy and Ms. April, two of his teachers from RCC came to the game. I am not sure which team actually won, but it didn't matter. In your eyes, it was truly about having fun with your friends and being a kid in the moment!

Post game cupckaes!
Running the bases!
Butterfly Fish
June 8, 2012. Lincoln marched in his third and final Reston Children's Center parade today. In 2010 he was a Street Sweeper, in 2011 he was a Cupcake, and this year he was a Butterfly Fish - a Copper Band to be specific. Lincoln's teacher Ms. Sandy worked with each of the children to design and paint a paperbag costume. It was so much fun watching them flutter and swim across the parking area, each child beaming with pride and excitement.

Saturday Game Time
June 2, 2012. Saturday afternoon tee-ball game! Lincoln really enjoyed playing the game and just being part of a team. He is gearing up to bat in the picture below and I captured a few shots of the swing and the run.
Berkeley enjoyed watching the game from the sidelines and being goofy. This being an afternoon game right around nap time, Berkeley got the special perk of having his beloved pacis at the ball field.
Brothers!
Happy 60th Birthday, Mom!
May 26-27, 2012. On May 25, my mom (Anita) turned thr ripe ole' age of 60! And to celebrate we surprised her with a party of friends and family in her favorite place, Fiddler's Green. Fiddler's Green is my maternal grandmother's mother's home. She raised 13 children in that tiny house. The weather was great, the turnout tremendous, and the food delicious. Faye cooked round the clock for days making her famous pulled pork BBQ and baked beans. Both mom and dad were on cloud nine - the party was a success. One to remember.
The kids had a great time playing in the creek - they caught "crabfish" as Berkeley likes to say, built a damn, and enjoyed floating things downstream.
Emerson turned five years old on May 27th - what a great place to celebrate the birthday day. Happy Birthday Emerson!
Lincoln made this special bird's nest for his Nana for her birthday!
Admittedly I was a little apprehensive about sleeping in a tent with the boys. Wasn't sure how they would do, but to my surprise they took to it great and both slept very well. Even took naps in the tent!
My dad found a not so comfortable spot to take a nap.
S'mores for breakfast!
